Pumpkin Spice Bread with Walnuts and Raisins

Many of you know already that I like quick meals or things that are easy to prepare. Maybe I can help someone today that is on the fence during this Holiday Season not knowing what to bring to a sick friend, a house warming party, to serve at an afternoon tea party with friends or just bake something for the sake of baking. I am coming to your rescue. This week at BJ’s, I found this 2 pack Pumpkin Spice Bread Mix from KRUSTEAZ. It was $3.50 and there is a coupon for $1.50 (by the front door) whick makes it $2.00 for 2 loaves of bread. How fantastic! All you have to do is add water, oil, eggs and of course I have to add my own twist: 1/2 cup each of walnuts and raisins.

Here is how:

Follow the instructions according to package.

I will be gifting a few friend tonight at church

Banana Cake

I was in the mood for some Banana cake instead of Banana Bread. This recipe I made a long time ago and I want to share it with you. This is such a delicious and moist cake.

1 stick of butter
2 large ripe bananas
2 large eggs
2 tsp grated lemon zest
2 1/2 tsp of vanilla
2 cups of flour
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp of sugar
1 tsp of baking soda
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Powdered sugar for garnish

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour your pan or line it with parchment paper put aside.
In a bowl, add the butter, ripe bananas, eggs, lemon zest and vanilla. mix well with a mixer.
In a seperate bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add the wet ingredients in two parts and mix well. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool and dust with powdered sugar.

Thermostat Makeover

Have you ever wonder what to do with your home thermostat. You all know that I love to decorate my house and this has been a challenge, knowing what to do with the thermostat. I was at my favorite store yesterday “Premier Thrift” and saw this beautiful picture frame. It came to mind, why not use the picture frame to make this eye sore look pretty? I did just that and here it is.

1- Remove the back and the glass of the picture frame, keeping the liner.

2- Attached your favorite decor to the frame. You can also put something movable in case you are changing your decor.

3- Place a nail and put the frame over the thermostat.

It’s the little thing in life that makes me happy.
